Loggerhead Musk Turtles are small-bodied aquatic turtles recognized for their massive, megacephalic heads, which are adapted for crushing hard-shelled prey such as snails and mollusks. Their unique appearance and behavior make them highly desirable in the turtle hobby.
These turtles are primarily nocturnal and are most active at night, spending their time foraging along the bottom of shallow streams and freshwater habitats. They are rarely seen basking compared to other turtle species.
